Student's will be given homework every Monday. The expectation is that they complete it and hand it in by Friday. Homework consists of a reading log, math and phonics. The reading log should be filled out every night, students should spend at least 20 minutes a night reading. This can be in many forms, for example: reading independently, reading to a sibling or adult, or having someone read to them. The math worksheets will be tied to our new enVision math program. The worksheets will reinforce the learning we have been doing in the classroom. I will also be sending home a sheet in both English and Spanish explaining each unit. Phonics and spelling will tie together and differentiate based on the needs of each scholar. Students should continue practicing their spelling words each night to prepare for the spelling test on Friday. Their phonics work will be a repeat of our classroom work sorting the words into the correct phonetic rule. Below I am attaching a link to our K-8 resource page. There are some wonderful resources on their to help support scholars in their reading and math skills. If you need a password for any of them please just let me know and I can send it home with your child, or send me an email and I will respond that day. You will also see when you click on the home button a full explanation of how to get onto Fastt Math, a math program used to strengthen students fact fluency skills.
